[#10528625]

I found a Montague X dumped by the side of a canal path today. It had clearly been stolen, ridden, then dumped when it got a puncture.

I've never come across Montague before, and it seemed like an interesting bike: It's a mountain bike but it's foldable. An odd mix of good and average parts. It has a disc brake on the front but rim brakes on the rear. It's heavy but seems pretty tough.
I took it into work, and I've contacted the police (who said something like "we'll get round to it sometime in the next decade"). I hope I can get it back to the owner, it seems like the sort of bike you'd really miss if it was your thing.

Not ridden one but years ago whilst looking at folding bike options came across these. I think they make them for the US military to be dropped by parachute. Quite a cool find in my opinion. I doubt the owner will come forward so you can pretty much consider it yours ๐Ÿ™‚

a message in the local area selling group in facebook seems to be quite effective

...I think they make them for the US military to be dropped by parachute....

I like the idea of the fold, so I had a look at one.

They would probably be better dropped without the parachute...

@epicyclo
Very Good

I'm going to get it to the police. Whoever bought it clearly chose it with care - there's a chance they might report it, and as it's quite rare there's a chance they might even get it back.
