Doing the trans Cambrian this year but trying to keep as much off my back as possible so I’m going to try a hop pack with the bladder in that,, I can see evoc do a £50+ one that looks suitable and I do really like the Evoc stuff but ideally only want to spend about £20, any recommendations?

I have one of these:

Good for the money. I replaced the bite valve with a Camelbak one as the one supplied was rubbish.

You won't fit loads in it with the bladder, but enough room for a tube, tools, phone, etc.

Got one of these for £7.99 from Mike.

No Bladder but sure bottles are better anyway.

I think the EVOC one is £50 without the baldder.

I have been using teh Dakine Hot Laps 5L which is the same price with a bladder. Its very stable, but its double what you want to pay.

However - I still think its worth considering!

I've used that Go Outdoors one, and it's fine for what it is It's a bit unstructured though, so even with just a bladder,  food and a few spares, it needs cinching up pretty tight.

In my experience it's worth spending the bit extra for the EVOC one at £40-50. Really secure, well made and holds an extra bottle (i don't use water pouches anymore)
The cheaper ones tend to bounce around a lot more, i don't ever notice the EVOC one, even when things get a bit lively

I’ve got an OMM one which is ok - quite big, but no structure inside it. Got it cheap to see if I liked hip packs - I do - at some point I’m going to get a better one as you quite often have to tighten the straps as they can loosen off a bit.

So I’d suggest to avoid OMM if you think you’re going to use it a lot.

I’m thinking next time round I’m going to look at Dakine and Evoc.
