Got a crabon Scott and discovered a small gouge on the bb shell. The paint/top layer has been cracked and there's a small area (smaller than 1cm squared) where the filaments are exposed - they're soft to the touch!
Being the bb shell, I'm not overly worried as there's still the alu shell that the carbon is wrapped around, however, I know this needs fixing to stop it getting any worse.
Just wondered if anyone has had a similar issue and how they fixed it? I was thinking that the cracked top layer will have to be trimmed back, the exposed filaments coated/filled with some sort of glue/resin, and then the area sanded down, and then painted/lacquered to seal it?
If you are anywhere near the North East this place nr Middlesbrough could help you.

I had to recently send my Corima disc wheel off to the doctors and HQ Fibre productsdid an excellent job.
You'll see their name pop up in various searches, including one from this forum
I have a cube gtc that had a puncture to the side of the seat tube. The repair was around £80. I`ll try and find out who repaired it.The repair is a mix of a weave/epoxy.Looks fine enough.
