Afternoon all,
my dual air u turn Pike 426's are due a service and whilst i'm sending them away i want to get them sorted out if possible. I'm pretty happy with the fork up until the going gets fast and rough and then i find the fork tends to spike and choke. I've heard the new blackbox rebound damper has gone a way to wards fixing this issue - can anyone confirm this?
My options are to either send to Loco who i've heard good things about and get a service and blackbox rebound assy fitted or more expensively to send to TF and get it serviced and Pushed.
My only small reservation with the Push tune (other than cost) is that you reportedly lose small bump/low speed compliance in order to make things better at speed.
Cheers in advance,
Steve
I vaguely recall Fishers telling me you couldn't retrofit Blackbox assemblies to Motion Control forks (my blackbox damper was broken and I wanted to run an old MC damper while waiting for it to be fixed).
I had a set of Pikes Pushd and thought it made a pretty big difference. The fork felt brilliant over the rough stuff and also seemed much better on hard cornering and tight switchbacks. Well worth the cash IMO.
I wouldnt bother with loco if you want your forks sorting this year.. ๐
his waiting lists seem *quite* long at the moment!
sent a request to get my shock sorted over three weeks ago and still havent heard anything back!
I gave up in the end and sent it to TFTuned last week.. got it back today... ๐
Spacehopper, have mailed you twice, once after your initial booking on th 02/06 and then to confirm a query, i believe, on 10/6.
Your shock was booked for the next week.
didnt recieve either of the emails.. ๐ฏ
nothing in junk mail either..
nevermind ๐ all sorted now..
Received my email(s) promptly from Loco and i'm opting for the blackbox rebound damper with a bit of Loco tuning and a service, will report back once Fishers get hold of some damper stock and my forks have been ridden for anyone who's interested.
