Just noticed a slightly growly brake-side bearing in my rear Traversee (older model, before they went El and Al). I gather the hub is DT Swiss made but I don't know if it's comparable to their other products for servicing. Any ideas?
My LBS ordered in bearings from Specialized and fitted them for me. Apparently they are a bit of a pain to fit, according to the guy who did it. I imagine they are a fairly standard sealed bearing unit - I have a feeling I paid through the nose from Spesh. Sorry, that's probably not much help.
Specialist tools for both DT & Specialized hubs (both the same), rip off city if you ask me................ ๐ฟ
I replaced the axle on my Traversee's with the new 142 x 12 standard. The internals are the same as a DT Swiss 240. Do a search on MTBR for changing the bearings on the DT Swiss. It is relatively easy and you don't need special tools.
Ah magic, if it's the same as a 240 then I can handle it- cheers!
Yep, just a 240, very straightforward.
18bikes ordered and did it for me, one bearing is "normal" the other a fair bit larger, that's all I can remember.
