Rate it/Hate it/any mods? Any ideas to improve it? IMO far too costly by about £600!

Not got one or seen one, but I researched similar when building my own Berlingo based camper conversion.

My kit was more stealth in that you could still use the 5 normal seats, and folded them down to erect the sleeping platform. It worked quite well for the size of van.

The Amdro kit has some nice features, and looks well made. I've heard good things from owners of some of their kits. I can understand where the cost builds up, and it looks about right against the competition. You could clearly save money by making one yourself, but that's true for lots of things if you don't put a cost against the time you spend doing it.

My biggest warning would be as above - consider how big the space is. We only ever slept in our Berlingo on three trips. You had to be outside to build the bed, to cook etc. In the end we got a pop up tent which was just as big, just as quick to erect etc. The Amdro photos show a boot lid awning which will be almost essential to use the slide out cooker etc.

I have now moved on to a bigger van, which I will hopefully use for the first time this weekend 🙂
