First time I've done this. Cracking route. But what poor VFM. Had to queue up at each of the crowded 2 feed stations, and no energy drink available at all. Also had to wait 30 mins in a pen to start despite been given a precise start time. Did others have the same experience? It's got me questioning what is the point of paying for sportives? Just riding with others?

Didn't you get closed roads for that one?

No, I thought the roads would be closed but they were not. Someone told me that it's the Velothon wales that the roads are closed,

Sounds like the same old Dragon Ride story. Hopefully the timing system worked this year unlike the year I did it.

Not this year, but have done the Dragon Ride and the Dragon a few years ago, have to agree, cracking route, especially on the Dragon Devil, but really expensive, coming from Norfolk, it was cheaper for us as a group of 4 to get ferry to Belgium, a few nights accommodation and entry to Tour of Flanders once split 4 ways, than it was to do Dragon Ride.

I think some of these events become a victim of their own success, so many taking part that the feed stops are rammed, last year my mate had bent rear mech, over an hour before the mechanic would help him.
