Wondered if anyone's tried both Singular's Swift forks vs Exotic (or similar) carbon forks ... any thoughts / differences?
I have and I preferred the swift ones tbh.
Swift forks are up there with salsa for best rigids i've ever tried
My on one carbons are noticeably comfier than Surly Steel ones I had.
the swift steel fork is the best steel fork I've ridden and I've ridden a lot. they're noticeably flexy forward and back (a good thing) but not noodly when steering. My exotics are good forks but don't provide that shock absorbing flex.
and don't fall for the bike mag BS that steel is comfy. most steel forks don't provide significant flex.
thanks all ... for those who've compared side by side, a noticeable difference?
I've got and tried both on the Swift. Think I find the Exotic ones better for steering through tight stuff but they seem a bit harsh over dry, bumpy open ground. I'm sure the Swift forks were more forgiving and will swap back next week. Exotic for the winter, Swift for the summer maybe?
I've tried a few, On-One carbon, Exotic carbon, Swift steel, now on Niner's steel ones. Best of the lot were the Swift steel. As regards comparing the Exotic & Swift, they each have their own sweet spot. The Exotics seemed to take the edge off bigger bumps, but they did transmit some trail buzz. The Swifts seemed to work the the other way round. I'm more a fan of bridleway ambling these days so the Swifts were better for me. The Niner ones are nice, but in honesty they arent worth nigh on £200. (They are listed as having "Reynolds tubing", but I sat both the Niner & Swift forks together & apart from the brake mount they are identical...make your own mind up, 😉
To be fair they are a great fork, & I love them but having picked up my Swift forks for £35 I was expecting better...
The Niners also came up heavier on the Wifes kitchen scales. I never weighed the Exotics, but they were certainly lighter than the On-Ones at 919g. The Swifts were 1038g, & the Niner's a whopping 1162g (but with an uncut steerer). Them Swift forks are a bargain. Get some. (If you can...)

Swift forks are also made from Reynolds 520 blades, probably by the same people who make the Niner forks.
Just ordered my 2nd pair of Swift forks, was thinking Niner Carbon, but for the price the blue beauties are hard to beat
here's the result

One word:
black spray paint
😀
I never got on with the Swift steel forks at all but they were the old style ones and were too tall. I am currently using On One Carbon and they are fantastic. I suppose it really comes down to whatever floats your boat!
I agree with cynic-al, those forks need to be a different colour on that bike! 🙂
black spray paint is 3 words?
Is that a 2.4 ralph in the back RD?
Tried both, much prefer the swift steel forks, exotic obviously lighter but swifts more compliant...well for me anyway !
