See quite a few tdf riders are using speedplay road pedals. Anybody using their mtb frog pedals? Seem like quite a good design and very light weight.

They do look like a good system, but due to that whole thing ^ that floated around a while ago, I'm never going to use them. They sound like ****s. I'm happy with shimano for now anyway.

I use frog pedals on my rd bike - lots of float and fit onto mtb shoes so I can push up hills easier

Yeah I did see that, doesn't seem to bother the tdf riders but does put you off purchasing.

Thanks for the reply scardeypants

as a follow-up, though I've never used off road I'm not sure I'd expect brilliant mud-performance: If you got little stones and mud clagged into the cleat I don't know that if could push out

I think I have to say that the company has a point in protecting the design and their profits, but didn't go about it in a good way. Not representative of the product and if you feel you can service them, then why not?
