My commute has a gut-wrenching hill half way along through a housing estate, going up on the way to work, going down on the way home, today on the way home about half way down, bombing along, I can see a black cat strolling left to right across the road, so this cat stops in the middle of the road mid stride causing me to slow right down not knowing which way it's going to go, so I go around it slowly to the right as it decides to then stroll on. I go by muttering something about good or bad luck to have a black cat walk in front of you (I'm not sure which it is) and said to myself it's just a pain in the arse black cat getting in the way.
So, at the end of this road is a mini roundabout, I check right as I'm coming up to it, I'm going straight on, left is a bit obscured by buildings but I'm slowing down anyway. Woman in a big 4x4 comes flying from the left, not even looking to my direction which she should be giving way to and even glancing down the road I'm heading for, probably looking for a road name or something, and straight across the roundabout and off. I still had to brake. It occured to me a few minutes later that if I had been maybe 10 to 15 feet in front of where I was I would probably be under the front of that 4x4 !!

Mmmm 😕 surely good luck cos I missed it ... or is it cos it missed me ... or, neither as I hadn't got to it yet so it didn't miss me, maybe I missed it?
