Moved down in the summer + have met a few. Made contact with Mr Lister on the previous site, but have lost his details now. Hoping to get some evening/ night rides going in the spring, rather than heading up the road to the trail centres/ big hills.
would also appreciate advice on good quality epics in the S.Welsh hills.
Cheers
Alec

I've had my moments mate. Missing the trails + people allot ๐Ÿ™
But the local cheek is good, living 5 mins from the beach is good, Holly having about a million 2nd cousins nearby, most of who we were out in the water with yesterday is good. Looking forward to your visit. 8)

I used to live in Carmarthenshire but only ride around there when visiting families. The Doethie trails are awesome, I think part of a killer loop features in the latest MBR or STW but can't remember which. Brechfa is also pretty good, trails centre there is good but theres loads of proper riding to be had all around the area.

Like Brechfa for proper hammering round but need to get exploring a bit more. Will definately get up the road to Doethie googling points at some good stuff there. Cheers Taff.

you can ride from Rosebush, Crymych, Newport, caneston wood near Oakwood, great pale wood llanddowrror, Brechfa has more than just waymarked trails too and yes the Doethie valley or Crychan but that's a bit of a trek from Pembrokeshire!

Cheers guys. Embarrasingly just found this again, so sorry for the late reply.
Tracked down most of the trails you mentioned NiloC, but need to do some more exploring around Crymych Newport when its a bit dryer. Did I meet you the other week at great pale woods?
Will head up to Brechfa on a night ride sometime with the brechfa mtb club guys.
Thanks again.
Alec

I originally come from St Clears but at one point moved to Whitland and that is as far as I got to being near Pembrokeshire, really hated being that far away from the trails so moved to Carmarthen to get closer to them.
Apart from a trail around the Preseli's, a wet forest near Oakwood and a path around the Llys-y-fran resovoir your better off with a road bike.

Preseli's incl Llys y Fran, Slabech and Canaston Woods, all good. Not from there myself but always bring the bike when I visit relatives in Haverfordwest

Might catch you Thursday Nilo.
Road bike'll be out again when the roads aren't ankle deep in mud.

Mal-ec, I'm in Ammanford, the far western end of the Brecon Beacons. Working close-ish to Carmarthen. We tend to ride in Western BBNP or Llandovery/ Tregaron/ Llampeter area. And ther is LOADS of classy riding to be done. The Doethie is a delight, as mentioned above- but there is so much more.

take a look at MTB-Wales too.

Hey Nilo thanks for the offer I dont have any lights but am considering giving night riding a go, prospect of it seems a bit mad to me but I really should give it a go and find out, hate only being able to ride at weekends...
