Seems to be happening too often just now.
Gravel scattered road, with pot holes and crap surface, not a place to get it wrong.
Wow. I was down that road yesterday on the Tour Ride. The Pros will be doing it next Sunday too. The descent towards Talla Reservoir is very nasty at the moment. In addition to gravel being washed onto the road, the surface has both holes and bumps (really, really big bumps).
The descent to Talla is always nasty. It's one where you simply cant let the bike build up and speed. I suspect that this rider may have been riding in the sportive. Only places I can think of where a stack would be fatal are that descent or the hairpin type corner over the bridge at the end of the long wide descent.
The Sportive was on Sunday. According to the BBC report, this accident happened on the Saturday.
Ah right aye. Getting my days mixed up here.
Tragic story
