While trying to sort my Garmin which seems to have lost its Livetrack function,can anyone recommend an Android app that will provide tracking so family can see where I am?

The buddy beacon feature on Viewranger is pretty good. Not sure if you need the premium (pay) version, though.

It's built into Google Maps which you likely already have on your phone. Switch it on, select who you want to share with. They'll see it in their Google Maps app or browser window.
