I think he's doing a splendid job, rigid too, respect.
I think the issue is that the camera foreshortens the slopes, that's clearly much steeper than it looks. If he let his saddle down a bit he'd be fine.

pretty genuine - fairhust is a real tryer but not overly good. His Ibis is in the shop have yumeya bits fitted so he was borrowing my old Marin, tyres may be a bit beyond it but hey ho.
I'm assuming the op was after some genuine advice and what I can add that IMHO there is one major issue that needs some attention. Ir is that the rider in question is riding without any gloves or similar hand protection. If the rider in question was to have a tumble or fall he could scratch his hands, and this along with the associated blood loss could lead to a significant injury. I think what this demonstrates is that there are some riders out there who don't take their health and well being seriously enough. In addition, un-gloved hands could cause injury to other riders in the event of the "friend" having any riding buddies of the same standard to ride with and if there was any kind of coming together or altercation. I hope this demonstrates the need to take health and safety seriously - remember it's tough out there

If the video had built up our preconceptions, in this case the rider is a 'noob' which were then destroyed, by say him ragging it past someone in full body armour with the latest DH bike and kit it [i]may[/i] have been funny.
