[#1127346]

Not managed to get out much in the last week or so just been too busy. I have about an hour and half tomorrow morning whilst eldest's at Nursery before going to lunch for his birthday.

What's a good quick passable route in the mud in the Hebden area.

Fancy something that flows rather than rocky ? Any quick blasts spring to mind?

Up Jack Bridge, road to Slack, down Slack Tracks, Punch The Wall, up to Heptonstall, down Midgets Pit, up the road, do Barely Legal. That should be about 90 minutes worth.

Drop me a mail if you want more specific directions if the yocal names don't do owt for you!

What about, part way up Ragley then take the Zig zags to Popples, along to Heptonstall, down all of the Blue Pig, up to the House of Shit, back along the road to Pecket and down to Hardcastle Crags?

If your not local call in Blazing Saddles.

Sorry to hijack this thread. Am up over the Christmas period visiting the parents and am hoping to get out on the bike. Wondered if anyone would be out biking and I could intrude on their ride. However will warn you am not the quickest especially after the copious amounts of alcohol I will no doubt have drunk over the Christmas period or technically brilliant so won't be offended if not invited!

If not, will go out on my own so would it be OK DBW if I emailed you for more specific directions (yours and Nige) as yocal names don't do owt for me (and am rubbish at navigating so need as much help as possible) - although originally from the area I can't call myself a yocal any more having lived in Nottingham for a good few years. Also thought about popping over tops to have a bez round Lee Quarry - is there any sign posted routes there or is it just go and explore?

Cheers

Drop me a mail mate and I'll see if I can point you in the direction of some decent rides. Can't really help with the Lee Quarry thing as I usually drive there but there are apparently some excellent trails over from Tod. Hopefully snowslave will be along later to give you details!

Thanks to all, especially DBW.

Lovely foggy ride, first time I've cycled (excluding commute) in a month or more.

Mind, body and soal back where they should be ๐Ÿ˜‰

All I need to do now is work out when I can sneak off work next week...

Lee Quarries quite easy to follow once you've found the place. Quite a mix of trails though, some area's very exposed, as is the site it's self.

Great place but if it's blowing a gale and -2 I think I'd prefer to be nearer the HB side.

Went with the first one, which I think was yours. Mainly as I was starting in Hebden after dropping the kids off.

Peckett's normally the start of any Hb ride for me as I live that way so fancied something different.

So you did Midgets Pit, Barely Legal etc? Enjoy? Some excellent bits on that... the singletrack from Slack down towards Punch The Wall is super quick. And the bottom part of Midgets Pit after dropping down from Heptonstall when you turn right at the bottom and have that flat out blast over the rocks and stuff with the hairpin with steps at the end... And the whole of Barely Legal/Blue Pig... Mmmmmm, want to get out on the bike!

Dr Blonde - there's a pretty straight forward way over to Lee Quarry via Flower Scar Rd...
