Has anyone had success in getting Zyro to honour warranty on Altura items? I just returned a 1-year-old altura attack extreme jacket to them, via dealer, and they have said they won't warranty the problem (seam taping coming off all over the place) as they think it's been washed in biological powder or somesuch. It's only ever been washed cool in tech wash, and not very often, I think they realise this is a known problem. I'm slightly allergic to biological powder and we don't have any in the house. All very annoying.

Yes, my altura attack 3/4's were authorised by Zyro for replacement due to a broken zip pocket (replacement turned up yesterday which was nice, as it was raining on last nights night-ride).
Have found them to be complete *unts previously though, with my Lupine lights warrenty.

Thanks z1ppy. Did you do anything special to get them to help? Contact them directly or anything?

No it was all handled by the reseller (merlin), though I had written a covering note explaining the issue & why I thought it should be covered by the warrenty

That's good news as I've got a pair of 3/4s that the left hand pocket zip has torn and the seat is starting to de-laminate

I find Zyro to be as useful as an aerodynamic parachute.

zyro are shocking! had a problem with attack shorts and they said they werent covered yet i took em back to the shop and they said it was a fault of the shorts and not me....needless to say i ended up buying some differnt ones and losing the 40 quid wasted 🙁

same with endura too, had a thermal jumper which had a hole in it from new where the label was, like the stiching was not completed by the label...sent it back and they sent a new one out ------ 2 months on after most of the cold had gone 🙁

Yep, they always were shocking. The worst thing was repairing clothing, so a customer would bring in a pair of shorts, you'd replace them from stock, then Zyro would repair the broken ones and a month later you'd have a dirty, used, but fixed pair of shorts!

They're very 'by the book' on all their warranty stuff, nothing will ever just scrape through with them!

It's a shame Zyro do some good brands because otherwise I'd boycott everything they distribute. Their sales figures continue to soar yet I have yet to hear of ANYONE mentioning good service from them.

Had a few Zyro distributed items go wrong and without fail, they've been nut crushingly useless. They must be good at something because they seem to keep on growing. Bit like Ryan Air I guess.

why do companies keep using zyro then if they are so cr*p, i mean doesnt it reflect badly on the manufacturers using zyro? Do the compaines not get to hear how bad Zyro's reputation is?

I've no idea how the manufacturer / distibutor thing works, but i've heard lost of bad things about zyro and it would maybe put me off buying some things they distribute.

I got my Attack 3/4's replaced due to material delamination. I dealt with Zyro direct, didn't even have asale receipt. Unfortunately the replacement shorts have failed the same way.

I didn't realise their reputation was so bad; I had heard about the delamination issue before I bought the jacket (comments on bikeradar review) but I assumed that a big distributor like zyro would honour warranty if I had a problem. Ah well.

i've had dealings with warranty on a reflex jacket

got the same you've washed it too hot argument!!
utter crap,
i used to sell outdoor kit and did an arcteryx gore proshell jacket and
another cheap waterproof all at the same time so i knew that

a machine was at 30 degress
b used the right nikwax product

eventually the LBS took the hit despite zyro's lack of interest

won't buy altura now

Had a problem with waterproof shorts delaminating - similar to most of the above stories they had been washed at 30degC with Nikwax washing liquid and were always drip dried.

Dealt with Wiggle and they returned almost by return of post. Replacements seem to be going strong so far.

I've got two pairs of attack trousers, and a pair of 3/4 as well. All washed exactly the same way, yet one pair of trousers are pealing away. I've jsut not got around to sorting it yet. Thansk, you've just reminded me, although i dont hold much hope!

I Had an Reflex jacket i got through evans, Seams came off after a wash (3 months old)

I wrote a letter stating what had happened how long i'd had it etc and sent it back, got replaced and i was happy. I've found over the years you only get anywhere with warrenty if you write a letter and explain it to them in black and white.

I also had the same problem with Zyro (via Evans) keep pushing and don't give any ground. Washed to0 hot is there stock response, eventually they offered to replace them as a 'good will' gesture.

Make a fuss, get a replacement and then stick to the good guys like Endura and Extra UK

PS Stop buying muck off as well until they start setting concentrate as its 5 time the price of Fenwiks
