I need to replace my shimano press fit BB on the road bike. It is a BB72 which I think is shimano's part code for an Ultegra BB86 type.
Do I have any better options. Are the BB92 (Dura Ace) ones actually going to last any longer? Certainly in the HT2 I never noticed any difference.
I don't want to spend a fortune and I don't want to have to buy expensive tools which rules out Hope as the only alternative I know about.
What I would like is a BB that will last a long time so changes are minimal or something that I can change the bearings on without removing the cups (again without spending close to £100 on tools).
Anyone make anything. I know we'll never go back to sq taper or even octalink which seemed to last for ever but at least HT2 I could swap out in a few minutes. Bit worried about the frame if I am replacing the BB regularly.
