I may have an opportunity for a couple of days in the Alps next week (meeting in Geneva).
Is anything open to get some riding in? Anyone guiding?
thanks
Swiss trains (lifts?) open for bikes until the end of Oct - Saas Fee, Zermatt etc.
Col du Jaman, uplift via train from Montreux - easy to do an afternoon - threads on here. As above re: railway access. You might drop Bike Verbier an email to see if they could help you.
See Tom's post from Chamonix (he of the Bike Book) here
EDIT: if you have the time/budget I'd suggest Zermatt for a couple of days
We could do some guiding/uplifts if you want - wouldn't be cheap though for 1 person!
Check out Bex in Switzerland
Is Les Gets still open weekends? Only an hour away.
No Les Gets shut at the end of September. I'd +1 the Col du Jaman, uplift via train from Montreux, nearest big mountain uplift or you can ride the trials on the Saleve by Geneva which have cable car uplift, It runs weekends I think and there are some good trails up there which are fairly easy to find.
