looking at apartments in the alps, i know morzine / les arcs have good mountain biking areas but what are the other resorts like?

Are there any areas that are being developed for mountain biking in a big way? I'm guessing most resorts will be getting into it now.

Any reccommendations for other areas apart from Morzine / Les arcs to look at?

Thanks

I had a good week in Chatel a couple of years ago, lot quieter than the other resorts.

Lake Garda is becoming popular in some areas.
Madiera is popping up quite often. I'm off there for a summer holiday and may have a ride or 2 if allowed ๐Ÿ˜‰
I was pondering this earlier. A lot of the current companies have been on the go for a while in the same areas but there are so many people new to the "sport" I'm sure there is going to be a steady stream for a long time.

Does it have to be France?
I went to Bulgaria last summer and have booked again for this year.
