Hello all.

My rear shock is going in for a service this week and while it's off I decided to fit new bearings.

I've replaced bearings on all of my previous Orange bikes, but they all had the pinch bolt set up, this is the first one that hasn't.
I've read that there is a through axle in the main pivot that has to be knocked out - is this right?

Has anyone got any experience with this or any instructional documents you wouldn't mind sharing?

Thanks!

That's correct - there is a through-axle that must be knocked out. It can be a good idea to effectively fit one new bearing to the axle, put that through the swingarm/spacers/front-triangle, then fit the other new bearing to the other side.

Otherwise, if you have the 2 new bearings in the swingarm, knocking the axle through tends to knock the far-side bearing back out.

Excellent, thanks.

So, removal is just simply taking the endcaps off and kncocking it out?

Any tips on easy, accident free removal?

Sounds similar to Santa Cruz - if it doesn't move stop hitting it ๐Ÿ™‚

Give Orange a call - they'll talk you through the process.
