I know us boring Stirling area lot bang on about how nice it is to live here.
Well, this is one reason why.
Nice vid. My level of riding. This is why I want a new long travel bike.
Is that your boy Matt? Jeez, he's grown!
Looks nice, any good camping, nearby Need to broaden my travelling up north once we are out of the problems
Like the video, riding looks great, but I do wince at the amount of skidding...
I'm also aware I'm in a minority with that comment but I just don't see the need for it.
However, that aside, it does look an awesome place to ride, doesn't it? 😉

Nope. That's Scotty. My Jack is usually only a few seconds behind on Strava... 😂

Oh yes. Where's the like button?

I can believe that!
Just like I was just a few seconds behind you guys at Comrie! 🤣🤣🤣

Busy one directly below Dumyat, overlooking Stirling and a few minutes walk from Bridge of Allan.

It's probably better to head out to Callander Woods closer to the mountains https://www.woodleisure.co.uk/our-parks/callander-woods/
Blair Drummond splits the difference

All quite large, I'm not sure of smaller ones.
That were rad. Nice bit of Scandi flicking 👍

Park up on Crispin's drive?
I had to agree about the skids and wished he'd of had more 'scene' socks on but other than that, awesome video!
Park up on Crispin’s drive?
Ha, I knew there was one advantage to our drive. #steep.
@LD and @Surroundedbyhills have space...
Thanks, bookmarked, only 40mins more travel than going to Glentress
For reference and planning.
He rides in the film at Dumyat, Cambusbarron, Ben Ledi, North Third, Stirling University Woods.
The skidding could be replaced with some foley work to give the same sounds, but without the impact on the trail. I have developed as a rider firmly in the no skid mindset.
I may speak to my folks...they have potential garden space for a tent...if demand for camping to come.ride here is high, I might try to convince them to allow a tent up!
Wow, those trails look great, and the filming was stunning. Rider looked pretty quick too...
That's definitely one of the better home-made videos I've seen.
His dad, Derek, was a really nice guy and a good rider too. Passed away on a practice day on a stage of the Dunkeld Enduro, tragic day that was. 😔
Nice vid. Just came here from the bike washing thread. Now, I can’t help thinking...
R O L L O N S U M M E R
(But wait... how are the midges?)
Just sold our house, wife "forcing" me to move to Stirling 😎
Looking forward to all the great road and gravel riding in the area 😉
Good good.
I've ridden on most of those more than once now - not at that speed however! 😆
Nice little vid. Polar opposite of my year. 2020 is the first and longest break from playing on bikes that I've ever had.
Also why are people whinging about a few skids? If you get upset about moving a handful of soil a few inches to the side please never look around the world in which we live and see the utter devastation taking place all over the globe.
Nice vid. Cracking looking trails. I want to ride them.
Excellent stuff - looks really interesting. I'm moving to Linlithgow in the spring, so looks like these trails are pretty easily reached.
Great video.
Reminds me of my 2020 riding local trails in the Chilterns...except with hills, rocks, drops, berms and erm trails.
Great vid Matt.
Great vid Matt.
It isn't mine.
Made by a local guy - see his other vids.
I've got some boggy flat bridleways near my house.
Not jealous.
It's still Stirling though, some nice stuff around there, but again, it's still Stirling!
I agree with @argee - no point coming here...best not encourage it (keeps the trails quieter for the locals to enjoy)!
Quieter, lol, dumyat is like cannock chase at the weekends!
Dumyat in early morning or night ride FTW. @stirlingcrispin has it as an art form.
Used to night ride with my mates up there regularly, canny face the drive these days!
For reference and planning.

Although to simplify there are only really three rides filmed:
- Dumyat including Uni and Mine woods
- North Third and Cambusbarron
- Ben Ledi
Trails look brilliant round there. Nothing at all like what we have within 15 miles of where I live!
Really nicely edited video - like the laid back music but still having bike sounds over it

Not me. Hill's generally too busy with white-trainered muggles (loving the current weather & travel restrictions though) and certainly haven't descended the main path for years.
That said plenty of higher hills locally - which don't feature on Youtube- and recently rode a 500m descent that was almost a world-first.

Within an hour you have FoD, Quantocks, Mendips, etc, i wouldn't worry too much if you are in Bristol, i lived just outside of Stirling, and much prefer down here!
'Natural' stuff looks great and nice riding.
I winced at the skids too. Don't really care that much about people doing them TBH just don't advertise it!
Tbf the best thing about stirling ain't the trails in the immediate surrounding area, it's the central location to go pretty much most places in scotland for a days riding.
Id say that is slightly better than FOD and the mendips.
Long trips for that, lived in Denny, long way to everywhere, grew up in Perthshire which was much better to get to places like Dunkeld/Pitlochry/etc.
Love FoD though, so much going on there, way more than what i ever saw up in Scotland, i'm more into runs and DH stuff, so yes for long XC stuff, Scotland had some great stuff, but for actual mountain biking stuff built specifically, i find FoD hard to beat.

But then Denny is so central that the Tweed Valley is also just over an hour away (as are Dunkeld and Pitlochry). OTOH Perthshire to the Tweed is a fair old haul. As good as FoD is, for the type of riding you mention there the Tweed Valley is akin to Mecca. Cademuir, Glentress, Innerleithen, Thornielee, Caberston (Golfie) and Yair would be destinations in their own right anywhere else
Yeah, used to enjoy Glentress and Inners, but it's a fair journey from where i was, hoping you don't hit traffic and busy places to go, as i always had to go round the central belt then Edinburgh, then you had that single route to GT which always had something wrong!
This was 15 years ago though, so guessing loads changed since then!
I'll need to try FOD if it's got more action going on than the valley!
To be fair, I agree re the valley, it's a **** of a place to get to from most of the central belt
You know how videos always flatten angles and make big jumps look small?
The big rock he jumps over near the beginning is not only massive but the landing is very sketchy!
The rocks he straightlines are chunky and steep. Here is me doing the easierish line down them
The skidding bit?
He built the trail and its proper steep. I tripoded down it when it was wet...
You think you can ride then you see Scotty riding the same trails as you and realise you are a slow mincer!!
