Further to my previous post; As expected I couldn't buy the small broken part which was part of the carrier unit and after some unhelpfulness from Madison (great public customer service :roll:) I found out that the carrier unit is not available as a spare in the u.k. only the complete ring gear was. Anyway, £80 to replace a small cog... marvelous!
£50 less than a new Alfine, so as the rest of it is mint....
On the plus side, this means that if any of you break yours, I can split my spare innards for bearings and planetary gears,etc, hopefully offsetting my expense and saving somebody a lot of dosh.
How did you bust the alfine??? Sheer brute 'jimbob' force? 😀
