I'm thinking about giving up on my alfine 11 and going 1x11. What I would like to do is save some money and not replace the versa vrs-11 brake/shifter.

Does anyone know the vrs (sti)/alfine pull ratio and whether it is compatible with either:

- Shimano 11 speed road mech
- New Shimano 11 speed XTR
- SRAM X01
- SRAM Force CX1

Cheers

Just in case anyone ever pulls this up in a search:
[i]
Unfortunately, the spacing of our pulley teeth in wider than formal shifter(because the Versa shifter was designed for Shimano internally geared hubs),
so we don’t think the Versa shifter can work with either STI road mech or a SRAm xx1 mech.
Hope the above descriptions are clear to you.

With some careful measuring and a bit of fabrication, you may well be able to make an adaptor to make the Versa work with a standard mech. Assuming the Versa pulls more cable of course, pulling less might be tricker.

A buddy made some adaptors

these allow you to run a 10-speed Shimano clutch derailleur with an otherwise 9 speed drivetrain

Depends on how keen you are for a challenge 🙂
