It seems that whilst money can buy you all sorts of things, including a peerage and questions in the House of Commons, that it still doesn't buy you taste!
I can see even Bradley Wiggins, a man never known to be shy or retiring, saying "hang on a minute, can we tone this one down a bit please" if asked to ride it... 😕
All roadies look stupid anyway. Don't see the problem 😛
I say good on the rubbish bearded, pube headed misery guts for getting out on a bike
alan who?
alan who?
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha, lol, I wish I had thought of that.
Fair play to him for enjoying the spoils of his war!
I don't know how old he is but he's looking ok in lycra compared with most of the weekend warriors I have the misfortune to see.
OP- I actually like that bike's paint job :O)
I have the 2011 dogma in British cycling colours., it's nice and tastefully done.....but the new paint work about is a bit too " in yer face for me "
BTW....I look hot in Lycra!!!..........ha ha ha......who doesn't .....lmao
He's out on his bike, and that's all that matters.
He has a big following (I think) and might encourage some more people to get out.
We each have our own personal tastes, although I think his is rather shocking.
He definitely hasn't found his inner woman yet.
I'd ride that, looks cool, i think the blocks of colour in the union jack break up the the inherrent ugliness of pinarellos!
Cool a hover bike.
Nice to see one of the UK's apparent "role model success story" people ridng a bike 😀
It looks like his seat is too low.
Not my thing (I don't think the Union Flag lends itself to bike tubes) but if he's happy..?
I'd be more worried about the forks being the wrong way round 😉
I'd have one.
I think it's the frame shape that messes it up most, the wee drop in the seatstays. Otherwise I quite like it. Maybe lose the red on the forks (I know thematically it should be there, but it looks odd since the rest of the stripe is missing for the logo)
Is he british champion or something?
FMB tubs? Must be nice to be rich enough to have a support car at all times
How high are those STIs on that second picture? Glad he's been able to afford a bike fit for the new one, they look much better placed.
Oh and likewise, I'd happily ride that if someone gave me one.
Hmmm, not enough steerer left over to achieve the position in that 2nd pic. .
I don't understand how, when you get to that end of the budget, anyone could settle for something off a production line rather than something like a custom Pegoretti, a real work of art?
TBH Ninfan, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Pinarello and Alan have done a deal for him to ride about on their bikes.

Cool a hover bike.
I thought his gut would be way bigger TBH. The Garmin kit colours are the most offensive thing, won't somebody please think of the children and send him a link to the Rapha website?

I used to live near Bicester, and there was a bloke I met out riding that way that was dressed head to toe (from helmet to socks and shoes) in Cervelo branded kit...which is ok, but he was y'know, built for comfort not speed...
Lord Sugar clearly didn't understand when he was told to get on his bike

+1.
The paint job hides all the horrible wibbly wobbly bits of those minging Pinarello frames.

Maybe he's clever enough not to be taken in by the hype about the wonders of steel.
Hardly a 'design' though is it Alan?
'Design' process = just lay a union flag on a frame and cut around the edges.
Loving the responses, keep them coming! 😆
I think it's fantastic that the grumpy old git rides a bike FWIW, but I just feel that there's a limit to what the realms of taste should allow for... I mean, look at Austin Powers' "Shaguar"...
The E-Type Jag is/was/always will be one of if not the most stunningly beautiful car ever made... But NOT when it's painted with a Union Jack Flag! I'm British and proud to be so, but painting anything/everything in a Union Jack Flag really is just a symbol of tastelessness in my book. Does Alan have those little Union Jack window flags on his Roller when the Footy is on like every council estate Mondeo across the land?
FWIW I also think the Dogma F8 is the "least ugly" Pinarello for some time too, but it really doesn't work just being draped with a Union Jack Flag...
Still, someone will pocket around £10k of his money for the privilege, so can't be all bad!

Those of us old enough to remember will equate the Union Jack (before it was rebranded the Union Flag around the time of the Falklands war) as synonymous with "I'm backing Britain" attempts to get British people to buy British when so much produced was utter crap. It was also used around the 60s Carnaby Street era when it was a way of being a bit cheeky. The final ignominy came when the National Front adopted it ("there ain't no black in the Union Jack"). All history now, and we're living in a post-ironic world so Mr Sugar (perpetrator of some of the shoddiest electronic goods ever made in Britain) riding an Italian branded frame with Union thing colours - hell, why not. In fact, sixty odd year old millionaire riding a bike? We've come a long way eh?
I'd wager thats a photoshoot pic and Al's bike will have a higher rise stem some spacers and possibly stargazing STIsGlad he's been able to afford a bike fit for the new one, they look much better placed.
Bike looks ok, for a pinarello.
fat old businessman in lycra on a 10k bike? throw a brick.
Audi/VW driver, perchance?like every council estate Mondeo across the land?

Good point, I'll keep an eye open for Pinarello adverts on the Amscreen at my local petrol station 😉
I know someone who used to be his pilot. By all accounts, Sir Sugar is a proper gent. Also, when flying, his bikes were loaded with as much, or perhaps more, care than the other passengers!
