I have one too and it's very nice. It's a nice colour and everything.

Sorry, I don't have much more to say about it. It does what it's supposed to do and it's a nice colour, that's about it but that doesn't really do justice to the amount of grief and swearing it's removed from the process of fitting tubeless tyres.

Couldn't agree more... Got mine the other week and converted every bike in the household... No issues at all

Mine won't inflate the tyre that previously went up with just a track pump and the adaptor that goes inside a presto valve when the core is removed won't fit in any of the valves I have regardless of brand.

Probably would work with box fresh tyres and rims but a track pump has always worked on fresh kit for me, so it's unfortunately not doing anything particularly astounding for me at the moment.

Has only failed me once when i was too impatient and tried to do a tyre straight out of the box without giving bead time to straighten out a bit.

I've got the Bontrager Flash thingy and some Gorilla taped rims. It's saved me literally hours of fruitlessley generating massive shaft heat in my old track pump.

It's one of those products you can never go back from.

I think the specialized blast is a nicer tool than the air-shot. Cheaper and better built too.

Got one last week, was hoping to try it tonight but unfortunately a brand new specialised storm and I got in an argument so it's sat waiting whilst a tube makes the tyre behave and I'll take it out and try it tomorrow.

I got one last week after struggling with a schwalbe rear tyre for a week. None of the usual tricks worked including using a 60psi space-saver spare car tyre as a source.
Went straight up with the airshot at 110psi 😀 Core screwed into my schwalbe valve fine.
Expensive for what it is but works great.

How so on and on?

Ditch the small o-ring in the adaptor and it will fit with no issues.

I've.even used mine to set up a couple of different 5" fat bike tyres!

Mine's defo my most lent-out tool. Mates are slowly buying their own though.

Looks like it works fine but isn't it rather expensive for what it is; surely at this price you could just about buy a mini compressor? And that's something you can use for much more than just inflating tyres.

Or am I missing something?

Yeah - it's a ridiculous proce for a bottle with a valve on it. You can buy a fire extinguisher for a tenner

I know we're into economies of scale and all the rest, but at half the price, I think it'd be worth it.

Definitely comes across as having a good bit of margin on top but I'm sure prices will come down as competition increases such as with the Spec version. That said, there was something on the front page very similar ( rebadge?) For the same price as the airshot so maybe we won't see so much competition 😕

A mini compressor isn't really portable unless you mean one of those crappy ones for inflating car tyres. That's useless for tubeless inflation.

Neat. So maybe it is a little expensive (5 years worth of inner tubes 😉 ? ) but why not give a few quid to a British (Welsh) business. Alternatively buy something through Amazon who pay no tax and their Fife workers sleep in tents in the woods.

There's no mechanism to push all the air out of the airshot into the tyre, you just open a valve between the two and the pressure equalizes, so you end up with 40 in the tyre, 40 in the airshot - that 40 in the airshot is what's escaping at the end

2 common user errors I've found:
a) Once the airshot's dumped it's load, you usually need to carry on pumping through back up to 45psi ish to get bead fully seated. No biggie.

b) Before releasing the head from the valve, turn the airshot cock, off, then it will retain any air left in the can.

Maybe when my 2l coke bottle gives up the ghost, but it's worked perfectly well for over 2 years now.

Like the look of the new Lezyne chamber pump with digi gauge though, I'd probably go for that instead.

The Lezyne one will be good. All the air will escape when you unscrew the stupid dumb screw on head 🙂

Not really their invention. But productizing a coke bottle inflator that people have been knocking up for years for about 50 pence and charging 50 quid for it is indeed brilliant business 🙂

Can't be as good as the fire extinguisher one I made following the instructions off here.

Larger reservoir does 2 tyres easy without having to re-inflate between.
Pressure limited only by the capacity of your track pump, (160 psi no bother)
Looks like a fire extinguisher so a massive element of danger due to the risk of someone trying to put out a fire with it, and blasting compressed air and flames all over the shop.

Has anyone managed to explode a Coke bottle one? I sometimes flinch a bit pumping the metal one up 🙂

Actually, this has inspired me to go get a wee fire extinguisher and make an improvement on the coke bottle.

Halfords here I come.

Get yourself on e-bay, (or Gumtree or go down the local tip) and find an empty, full size CO2 extingusher. Much cheaper and more useful size.

£7 Lidl garden 3l garden sprayer was easily converted and works well.
