Struggling to get a tire to convert to tubeless, 32 pegs and some giggles later and it's worked perfectly.

I used 32 pegs to pinch the sidewall of the tyre. This pulled the bead out towards the edge of the rim giving a better seal and allowing the tubeless tyre to inflate! Works a treat apart from the 32 pegs flying around the garage.

32 pegs flying around the garage.

This sounds like a fun bonus to me.

Pegs in the sidewalls, must be a flimsy tyre?

Not overly flexible. It just gives enough pull to help the bead out towards the rim wall. I heard it from someone else but didn't think it would work. It actually works really well. I guess it replaces the tapping of the tyre.
