After buying a new SRAM chain and fitting it began to slip on my slightly worn XT cassette so as you would bought a new cassette (SRAM) but it still slipping? Feel a mug asking but any other suggestions why? It's not the freewheel thats for sure? ahhhhhhh

Worn chain rings? If it's a triple/double does it slip in all chain rings? If not then try turning the dodgy one around if you want a quick bodge...

Could be the chain rings as suggested above. Could be an indexing issue. Maybe a bent hanger.

+ 1 on the chain rings, I encountered the same when I thought I could get away with replacing the cassette and chain only.

Best way to tell if the chainrings are knackered is watch the rear mech when you pedal. If the cage skips back and forth the rings need changing.

you let the wear go too far and its worn the chainrings too much. Sheldon brown explains why this happens very well.

You may get away with unbolting the rings and rotating them 90 degrees then re-bolting them. This is because groups of teeth, offset from the two power zones of your stroke, suffer most wear. You bring the less worn groups of teeth into play by rotating them.

Failing that get new rings 🙁
