[#405966]

We're doing Afan for three days this weekend.

As we have a van I thought we might do a bit of shuttle 'ing for a bit of lazy fun after the 'real' riding.

Can anyone point out the route for a car on a normal map?

(yes we will be riding the full loops, yes we will be riding the ups etc)

There are no roads with public access to get you anywhere near the top of the climbs.

You can get to the top of the Wall final descent fairly easily with a Van. It's fairly obvious from a map too.

The road to Bryn Bettws is private I think, although I doubt anyone would challenge you for driving up it. But it's very long (nearly a mile iirc) and bumpy, and by the time you've driven round the head of the valley to the visitor centre, it'd almost be quicker to spin up the fire road.

I've parked up by the cabins a few times now, never been challenged.

In the end we were actually staying at Bryn Bettws Cabins (highly recommended), so rode a bit, BBQ'd and did a few shuttle runs down the ZigZag on the Wall.

Great fun.

I suggested the bloke put a sign up on the dirt road passing place where the Postcode centre is telling you to continue up the road and turn left, but he just smiled at me.

All our group were GPS'd there and then had to navigate themselves the rest of the in the dark.
