Me and Mrs.S are going to Afan today for a long weekend.
Not been there before- Any things we should definitely be riding and others we should give a miss?
Might have a walking day too- any recommendations for that?
Pubs to head for or avoid?
Thanks
There's only really 3 trails at most: White's Level and the Wall, which can be ridden together as W2, and is worth doing, and Skyline, which has a lot of fireroad interspersed with some excellent descents, but has recently had a lot of diversions in.
To be honest, I'd only bother with W2 and go to Brechfa the other day.
Brechfa is closed tree felling I believe
Why not try Cwm carn on the way or Brecon Becon routes?
get there friday eve. camp in glyncorrwg
get up nice and early ride up whites do w2. then go back pack up and head over to brechfa. ride the trails there. much more satisfying.
Hmmm, might try Cwm carn on the way back!
Yes if Brechfa is shut go and do Cwmcarn, just bear in mind you'll probably want to do 2-3 laps for a decent length ride.
I go to Afan 2 - 3 times a month W2 black I like the riding there. Most skip the black run bit of W2 but its not that technical. Back from few days at CyB and Nant Yr Arian nice to ride somewhere new but still think the trails at Afan are better because they are faster. But just my view no flames please.
