After 13 wonderful years, the time has come for us to say goodbye.
It is with a heavy heart that we announce we will be closing the bike shop and cafe. What started out small quickly grew into a great community and something far more special than we could ever have imagined.
We are so incredibly grateful for your support, loyalty, and kindness over the years. We’ve shared so many laughs, stories, and memories that we will cherish forever. Thank you for being part of our journey and for supporting our small business over the years.
We’ve also had the privilege of watching some of our staff grow up with us, joining as teenagers and becoming the fine young adults they are today. They have been, and always will be, such an important part of our team and our story. We couldn’t be more proud of you, and wish you all the best for the future.
We truly hope someone will take the shop on in the future and continue to be a central part of the community.
We're looking at finishing up at the end of April and will continue trading up until then selling off stock and finishing things up. We will still deal with any warranty issues people have once the shop has closed. Thanks
It’s going to be sad to see it go if new Owners cannot be found. The cafe may be just viable as a small business, but it’d be difficult. Winter hours are Saturday and Sunday only, no one can make any money from two days, and with the weather we’ve had recently (the last 5 Sundays have had rain for most of the day), it can only have made things worse. Losing the uplift for most of last year was a blow, and the general lack of footfall away from the weekend is noticeable. I used to be a regular on Friday afternoons last Summer, most weeks I was the only one in there. On the upside there are a few events already booked in for next year, so there is a small guarantee of at least a few weekends of reasonable takings.
A group of us who only visit once a year on a regular weekend trip ( we're based in West Yorkshire ) have always looked forward to the great food in the cafe after the ride and had incredible service with assorted mechanicals at reasonable prices from the bike shop.
Both the cafe and bike shop will be sadly missed.
Sorry to see you go.
Admirable that you first recognise your young staff and customers in this sad announcement. I'm sure you've been a great asset to the community too, although I've never had the pleasure of visiting.
Genuinely wish you the best of luck in whatever the future brings.
