Hi

Ive just purchased a 2nd had Stumpjumper FSR with adjustable trafel Fox RL Talas forks (100-120-140)

Now being new to MTB'ing in general and haveing never had a bike with any more than 100mm of travel Im not so sure I understand when to use what setting or wheather i should just leave it at 140 and forget about it.

Can anyone offer any advice?

riding up - less travel
riding down - more travel

tbh stick it on 120 and leave it at that

I tend to leave mine alone most of the time. But generally - 140 for steep stuff, 120 for twisty / flat stuff and 100 for climbs.

But really, whatever feels nicest.

I leave em at 140 for most stuff but wind them down for going up long climbs - and for at least the first bit of the subsequent descent. ๐Ÿ™„
