Hi there,
(I did search thru the forum last night but couldn't find anything that specifically answered my question)
I’m setting up a part-time cycle tour company (I've gone P/T at my day job)and have booked a MIAS level 2 course and an Outdoor first Aid course.
Could anyone tell me what Insurance I need and suggest where I can get this cover please?
I seem to be going all round the houses at CTC, British Cycling and various course providers.
I’ve also phoned Zurich Insurance and the broker they recommended, but I’m getting nowhere.
The tours will be for over 18s only, mainly country lanes and disused rail tracks, but the odd bridleway.
Nothing very technical or hazardous, and not in extreme weather conditions or in remote areas.
There are approx 10 tours, mostly with a duration of 3 days (but some of 7).
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Not an Insurer our company use so can't vouch for them however, according to the ABI they many be able to help.

Good luck in your venture.
Why are you getting nowhere with the broker? Do they not really get what you're doing?
Have you tried these guys?

Thanks a lot for the pointers. I’ll make some enquiries of Leisure Insure, Perkins Slade, and of my MIAS course provider.
Any other advice very welcome. I’ll post when I’ve sorted it out; it may be of some use to others.
Thanks again for the help, and for the well wishes with the venture.
For the record:
When I spoke to Zurich (who I was told do the CTC insurance) they said they don’t deal directly (with the public) but do it through a broker.
The broker said they do public liability insurance for tradesmen but not for what I’m doing.
(Maybe Zurich just gave me the wrong broker!)
British Cycling liability covers individuals and other groups, but not leaders of commercial rides.
Though there may be more available from British Cycling, I’m wading through their website and guidance.
CTC covers individuals (and leaders of CTC tours).
