[#684254]

I am doing a 6 hour endurance event tomorrow at Bettshanger and I wondered if anyone had some advice?

I have 3 mtbs and 2 are single speed although it is not a SS event.

I am in a team of 3 so I will get a rest every now and then ๐Ÿ™‚

Although I am not serious about winning any advice on prep etc...?

Decide whether you're taking one or two bikes.

Take lots of clothes (spare shorts and shoes). And warm clothes to put on when you're not racing.

Take enough food and drink, both for riding and also for between and after.

Have fun..!

The Fowlmead site is flat as pancake, but it will be hot hot hot.
drink lots of fluids. you are only going to be riding for maximum 2.5 hours so treat it like any other ride ๐Ÿ™‚

thanks for the comment about the terrain because I didn't know what Fowlmead was like; does not look like it is conducive to single speed then?

I need to sort the bikes out...I have 3 one with gears that slip under load (presumably wear) another with a badly balanced back wheel and loose chain (SS) and another SS 29er which is ok but I just need to fix the puncture!

Flat as a pancake should in theory be very conducive to singlespeed - though you'd presumably need to change your ratio!
