Its actually an interesting philosophical question about when violence is acceptable.I think most of us would agree it was acceptable to use violence to protect a child from harm and it is not acceptable 'cos someone annoys you. In between?

Again, it comes down to common sense and how others portray you. I've met ton twice now i think and i know he means no harm and even before meeting him i knew what he said and what he would actually do are totally different.
Problem is TJ, i've never met you and i now believe that you would hit a child because of what you have previously just said. What i will now do is use my common sense and realise that i have taken this out of context and you in fact would never hit a child.
Got to be careful though what you say in a forum nowadays i guess

I've had one or two knobs make veiled threats (and even the odd direct overt one) towards me on here, which I find very funny. How pathetic, that someone gets so wound up by an idiot on the internet, that they can't think of owt more intelligent than to issue threats. Shows what losers they are.
Also, I make no secret of being a little bloke. Probbly why they feel so brave, the big butch hunks. I suspect things might be a tad different if I were 6'4", and a proper big scary looking bastard.

See, if you can't handle verbal jousting without resorting to fisticuffs, then you lack sufficient self-control. So someone on a forum is a dick, so what? So someone in 'real life' is a dick, equally so what? Unless someone is a real physical threat or needs sorting out so's they don't hurt someone, there ain't no need for real violence.
In my (far too extensive) experience, people who bang on about 'lamping someone' are invariably not at all likely to actually carry out their threats. It's just waffle, designed to try to make them look all big and tough, when in reality they're probbly quite insecure and feel somewhat inadequate.
Because someone who is actually likely to lamp someone probbly won't talk about it, they'll just do it.

To get to North London at 8am from Tonbridge is going to be a frickin' nightmare. If I collect all your equipment and your bike on Wednesday after school, I can pre-load the van so that we don't have to faff about; you can just get a train to East Croydon, I'll collect you there, we go to Guildford, collect someone else and drive off into the sunset. Logistically far easier. Capiche?
