Who was the guy who made Ferrous mountain bike frames? Mid 90's?

Just reminiscing, and discussing paint work on bikes, and distinctly remember his having a 'paint-runs' and/or bubble effect, with 'Fe' in the little bubbles......

They were the days.......

Can't help with Ferrous bikes but - talking of paintwork on bikes - did you once have a Cotic Soul that was pink when viewed from one side but turquoise from the other?

Can't answer who the chap was but they were things of beauty. I remember one in the Singletrack exhibition show type thing at Townley Hall from some years back and it was a real head turner.

a11y - yip, that's me, pastel pink and baby blue. Got my cx and road bikes painted exactly the same now (and road shoes, and helmet - how much is too much?!).

fatboyjon - the level of artistry in the paint work was outstanding. I've yet to see something as good (and yet to make it to a UK hand-built cycle show).

Wasn't his first name Raoul?

@LardLover, that was a work of art itself that Cotic - glad to hear you've continued that! Think I also bought an Orange 5 frame you yonks ago, drove south from Falkirk to collect it.

@kelvin - that's the bloke! Anyone know what he's upto nowadays?

@a11y - thank you. Can't take the credit for Argos Cycles handywork. Kevin Winter kindly did the paint jobs this time round (better and cheaper than Argos Cycles).
I bought a Cotic Soul frame a couple of years back and had it resprayed in the pink and blue, just for old times. That started the bug. Next was the cx bike and then my good road bike.
I have since sold the Cotic, to guy in Wales.
And yes, I remember selling the Orange 5. Thanks for driving down for it.

They were happy times.

Now, Raoul, fancy making another frame for me??.

I've got the sparkly green one that did SSWC Berlin under Raoul and "won" SSUKFIXED at Hamsterley in my loft which I collected via Bez from Thrunton Woods car park.

Really should get someone to drill the stuck wobbly BB out.

I rode with Raoul and others once in the Surrey hills, he had dark hair and the bike was yellow and he was a nice bloke, cant’ remember how or why the ride happened, could have been through here, dialled bikes, chocolate foot or just mates i rode with back then.

halcyon days...
