Hi all,
My NX derailleur broke so I replaced it with one of the new 12 speed deore ones. However to get the cassette (11-51 sram NX) to line up with the b tension marker I ended up removing the screw all the way out?
Is this normal when mixing sram and shimano. it seems to shift fine in the stand but not had it out on the trail yet.
Or is there some magic setup for the sram/shimano setup - just couldnt face buying another NX mech and GX was a lot more expensive
Don't know about your specific set up, but i've come across some full Deore set ups that have needed the B screw backed nearly all the way out. It's going to be more dependant on the hanger's stop than the cassette, I would think.
My b-screw is backed all the way out to get enough wrap on the 10t on a full shimano setup.
It will be more of a case of will the Shimano mech work with a Sram shifter.

No such thing I'm afraid. Every bikes going to be different when you start mixing manufacturers. I'd be more concerned with the shifter as they pull ever so slightly different cable lengths IIRC
Shimano SLX 12-speed rear mech works perfectly with SRAM GX Eagle 12-speed shifter, it's what I now have on both bikes and I'm happy to see the back of SRAM GX rear mechs 🙂 🙂
Yeah, perhaps the more expensive sram stuff is good but the lower end seems overpriced and a bit rubbish whereas deore seems solid.
Seems like it's not too strange to have to wind the screw all the way out. Seems to shift well so I'll assume it's ok
Cheers
