Does such a thing exist?
I’ve tried looking to no avail.
Thanks
As far as I'm aware the only way this is possible is by using one of the newer style cranks with the replaceable axle like hope or raceface and then go from there.
You can source the 83mm axle and then use the crack arms.
Expensive as would need a bb to due to those type of cranks having 30mm axles
Or in a similar to transporter's suggestion, what about an 83 mm crank with removable spider? e.g. you could get a GXP DH crank and swap the spider to a twin ring one off a trail / xc GXP crank - usually a few on ebay or pink bike looking to get sold.
The original shimano Saint (M800) did, they even had a triple !
There was a specific front mech (M805/806) to go with it for a 57.5mm chainline.
You may find the stuff on ebay as the cranks were indestructible 🙂 but very few people ran double and bash on bikes with 83mm BB's as they tended to only be on DH bikes. FR bikes with a bit less travel that you could actually pedal, more often had 73mm BB's
I don't know of anything current.
raceface chester / respond?

Middleburn do an 83mm axle and replaceable spider suitable for a double, check the BETD website.
I have a new 83 mm 127mm long square new bottom bracket. They are fitted to some specialized bikes
