Looking at spending a week with a few friends late June/July in Scotland and wondered what self catering accomodation people have used and would recommend?
Had a quick look at Galloway Country cottages, nice Swedish style chalets, which look nice. Anyone used them before?

Gorsebank.
We have used both bothies this winter, on our own in the smaller one and with another family in the larger one. They are great, fully equipped kitchen, TV (if you need that) sofas, beds with mattresses and you bring your own sleeping bag. Toilets and showers are in a separate block (camping style)and used by the whole site - timber pods and now tents as well. Secure storage for bikes and free range eggs for sale at the farmhouse.
Planning our next visit already.
