I’m thinking of getting a pair of 5.10 Trailcross GTX for winter, and wondering how they size up - think I’ve seen a couple of people comment they’re narrow in the toebox?

Mine are 1/2 a size up on what I usually get - 10.5 vs 10. They're definitely narrow. I've some Vaude Moab STX which are loads wider.

I get the same size as I do in Specialized cycle shoes - Eu 45s in both. Id say they are "normal width" - so a bit narrow for 40-50% of the population with wider than average feet (or Hobbits).

I go up a size usually with Trailcross, but I do have WIDE feet. Only flat shoes that are comfy at usual sizing are my Leatt 2.0s

I would have agreed with this with a pair that were about two years old.

Had to size up and even use a shoe stretcher as they felt very narrow.

However I've now got a new pair, exactly the same size and model but they're a fair bit wider.

So maybe they've changed the shape of the footbed very slightly.

The new ones feel more like the traditional 5.10 sizing /width.

That's good to hear Stu, 'cos the Adidas last was getting ridiculous. I was starting to think they only made shoes for Lt Saru from Star Trek Discovery.

I went half a size up to accommodate thick wooly and waterproof socks. Unless you live somewhere warm, factor it in because they are not well insulated.

All my trailcross have been bought in the last year, so I only have experience of recent versions.

Mrsstu also received a pair of trailcross GTX this morning and has experienced the same thing of them being wider than her last pair of the same size.

Both pairs bought direct from Adidas so definitely the newest stock.

Looks like they have definitely changed the shape back to their more traditional width.

I've got the non GTX versions and they're tight even a half size up. A shoe stretcher made them comfortable rather than useable.
