I have been looking for a 360 action camera.
There is a deal on at the moment for the Insta 360 X4 for £230 New.
But...my budget is really around the £150 mark, i need to have decent stabilization and 360 footage. What do people recommend?
Go Pro Max? (dont know much about them)
X4 is okay. And probably a good deal.
Your probably going to have to up your budget to improve upon that. DJI osmo 360 is the pick for me. Very well sorted.
Only thing I would add is it's the processing of 360 that makes it a ball-ache. You obviously have to make the spherical image into a flat image which takes a time on your edit, and be a bit frustrating.
Quite good fun though.
(I think I'm going to treat myself to a hover air X1 promax. As even though I've got drones I've not got any of these following drones. I think filming yourself like this is the best vantage point.)
Best lower end 360 is the Akaso top end is the InstaX5 for £150 you'll need to really go second hand, don't forget you will need mounts etc this can soon add up.
Thanks - it doesnt have to be new. £150 is my top end, thats why i was considering either the Insta360 X3 or the GoPro MAX (2019) model.
personally I think user replaceable lenses are a must for a 360 camera and I was disappointed the dji didn’t have them. The X4 is good deal I’d stretch to the if you could. @rone I’ve had the hover x1pro for a year and it’s great but unless the 8k is a must id get the Neo 2 both as it’s substantially cheaper the obstacle avoidance is better and the customer service from Hover isn’t great. Mine failed mid flight they tried to tell me it had got wet which it had not and wanted me to pay for a replacement even though i had hover care and it was less than 12 months old. Eventually after a bit of a social media campaign they re looked at the logs and found a motor error and replaced it free of charge. I haven’t flown the replacement as I fell a little out of love with it. I even had to buy a neo as a stop gap for our big family holiday.
I thinking of selling the two and buying the neo 2 as I already use DJI action cams and mics etc.

That's useful @stainypants but the size and slip in a pocket of the hoverair x1 really appealed? 8k just yields a better image in the examples I've seen.
Have you got the promax?
Yes the DJI stuff is sorted. I've got loads of their kit. But I thought the Neo was not so great and large.
Not having a controller looked a great idea too.
(post cont.)
There's no D-log M on the neo2 either. That's a deal breaker for me. I like to colour my own stuff.
But it is cheap!
