Any useful pointers for some 3/4's that are going to be my ONLY bib shorts for 10 days riding. I'm hoping for something mildly water repellant as I've done this before with standard 3/4's and waterproofs but often cannot be arsed to put the proofs on for a short shower.

You want ones that will dry quickly - unfortunately 3/4 tend to be made of thicker material so often take longer. Look for something that's a 'summer weight'. Alternatively just use knee/leg warmers.

DHB roubaix tights are nicely warm without being hot, seem to dry quickly and a cheap.

I use knee warmers already.

I saw some weirdy CTC type things that acted as spray covers on the top of the legs and wondered if there was anything that incorporated these into the short.

The DHBs look good value though

My 4 day LeJog is going to be done in one pair of shorts next May, regardless of what fatboyjon says. Nowt wrong with that. Give them a rinse in a sink or stream. Slap them back on. Start pedalling again.
Those CTC things are hideous. I'd rather get wet.

Decathlon do some thinner 3/4 bibs. They dry very quickly but won't even attempt to keep the rain off of your skin.

Yep, did a credit card Lejog last year over 11 days. Just shower in the shorts every night then dry them out

but often cannot be arsed to put the proofs on for a short shower.

Most people take their waterproofs off before stepping into the shower, but hey....

Those CTC things are chuffin' ace - I use mine all the time, but you do need full mudguards so there's no spray from below.

I got a pair of Northwave Striker bib knickers in the CRC sale. Took them for their first proper ride today and I'm impressed.

Really comfortable fabric, not too hot, a real quality feel to them, abrasion resistant material on the knees. They were less than half price in the CRC sale.
