I want to add another bottle cage to my frame and the hinged metal clamps (DMR, Velo Orange) look better to me than the plastic alternatives. My seat tube is 35mm Ø, has anyone tried fitting this type of clamp onto larger tubes? I'm hoping it might work, albeit with a little gap (which I don't care about, as long as it grips well enough on the trails).

They do work (I've used them on forks and seatposts) but why wouldn't you order the 34.9mm size that matches your tube diameter? They seem to be available for not much money.

Thanks, I just found those! I thought they were only available in the smaller two sizes. I've bought a pair of 34.9mm.
