Just got a new bike and am wanting to transfer my 30.9 ks dropper post over onto my new bike which has a 31.6 seatpost.
I've tried a home made shim out of a can, 2 layers seemed about right but with the clamp pretty damn tight the post still turned quite easily. I didn't want to go any tighter with the clamp in case I crushed or deformed the dropper post.
Has anyone had any success with a home made or shop bought shim?
Use shim worked well for me from winstanleys
Peasant, was that with a dropper or standard post?
Same as the above but not with a dropper. Maybe throw on some carbon fibre assembly gel for some extra friction.
USE shim worked for me, you mayhave to look hard for one though, not an easy to get shim size, but they do make them and they are around. I got mine a year ago from 18 bikes. Used on a reverb.
Dropper
Great, thanks all, I'll get one ordered ๐
