For a complete bike at this money, what do you all think...?
Bike is for my brother-n-law, a total newbie, no spannering skills at all.

1) Classifieds on here?
2) Rockrider 5.3 £299?
3) Carrera Centos reduced to £329?

He'll need a medium, wants gears, but needs something easy to maintain so maybe rigid front?
Anyone got something in the back of their shed?

The DEcathlon and Carrera are both OK, and superb value... But still got corner cuts that do hobble them. The XCM fork's not awful but not good.

That Merida looks a bit of a bargain for a begginer 😀

Thanks all - he's ordered a custom Ti singlespeed 29er.

Only joking... he got the Merida from Merlin - with an extra 10% off - so a pretty decent starter bike for £250!

Brilliant - thanks again to the mighty STW.
Brilliant.
