Ie granny and smallest or big and bail out? I am sure I have ridden a bike with the SRAM stuff on it that could do this.

Thanks

Depends on the system. I don't think my 2x9 can do it, with shimano stuff. I have heard you can do it with the new SRAM XX. Don't know about the new shimano XTR. Can't do it on my road bike, with 2x10 ultegra.

Ah ok just looked at competitive cyclist and they say you can! I tried xo on a demo day and I thought it could, looks like I may have new bike set up issues straight from the lbs ๐Ÿ™

All SRAM 2x10 front mechs are designed so you can use the whole range on the cassette with no problem, be it X7, X9, X0 or XX.

Not sure about Shimano.

How about using a 3 spd mech and shifter and using the third click as a trim?
