[#9317542]

Looking to replace/compliment my Crests with something wider and a tiny bit stronger

- Custom build with Hope hubs
- around £600 all in
- Wide, light
- Able to take a 29+ on the front possibly but 2.25 tyre(s) too
- Tubeless
- To go on a 'trail' hardtail with 100mm forks

Any thoughts/recommendations please?

Was thinking about some LB carbons or Velocity blunt/dually but there must be some other/better options out there...

WTB Assym?

They do varying widths. 30mm or 35mm (although 35 may be a stretch with the narrower tyre and conversely 30mm too small with anything >2.6

Try Blue Flow Bikes

http://www.blueflowwheels.com/product-category/carbon-wheelsets/

30, 35 or 40 mm carbon on Hope hubs. Priced up cheaper than LB when I bought mine about a year ago with excellent UK-based support and warranty. Love mine.

im just getting easton arcs built up at the moment 45 on the front (to run a 29+) and a 40 on the back for a 29.

looking forward to trying them - replaced velocity p35s that have cracked at the eyelets after 5 years of abuse. no complains, just want to try something new.

I bought a set a couple of weeks ago (40mm) and built them up. Was an easy build, nice stiff rims. Fairly plumps up a 2.35" tyre. Very good value.

So ordered another pair for the other bike.

Hmmm - blue flow looks like a possible option - bit towards the top of my budget but depends on what happens with the whole boost situation...

I recently used a Halo Vapour 35 to replace the Crest in my rear wheel. Built up nicely and went up tubeless really easily. Have only done one 6 hour ride in the lakes on it but seems good so far.

Liking the Ryde rims on both my susser and 29er HT: http://www.ryde.nl/rims-search---0-1-63,78,75,76,77

I've got the asymmetric Enduro (29mm internal) and Trace (25mm internal) rims which appear to have changed name. Pretty light, stood up well so far. Come into the country through Chicken: http://www.chickencyclekit.co.uk
