got a 250 mile trip coming up, nearly all offroad. not carrying luggage this year, so bike choice.
100mm light hardtail or 160mm mountain slayer.... ๐Ÿ˜€
what would you choose.

I'd go full sus. IMO being able to sit and spin is going to be better over that sort of distance than weight saving or efficiency.

Surely you've ridden them both and can make your own mind up?

Knowing Ton he's already made his mind up, he's just asking what YOU'D choose!

Terrain dependants really, where are you riding? How techy?

Personally I'd take my krampus with a bluto up front on chronicles.

Whatever you have. I just took my transition bandit 650km over 8 days around the gravel roads of the Icelandic interior.

If I had to buy a new bike for it, I couldn't have afforded the trip.

Neither of those will be any good, you definitely need a new bike.
