Can someone please kindly point me in the right direction of a headset that will fit this bike? I need the entire headset, not just the bearing replacements. Perhaps one of the most confusing frames I've had to find a replacement for. Thanks!
I can’t but there is a huge thread on Chinertown forum about the frame, look for “fm936”. That’s the Chinese manufacturer’s name for the frame sold directly. I’m sure headsets will be discussed in there somewhere!
I had similar problems with the headset on my Vitus Sentier. Is the one with creaky plastic cups? In the end I just had to take it out and get the LBS match it with something new.
The spec on the Vitus website shows
HEADSETAcros AiX-322 R3
IS41.8/28.6 upper & IS52/40 lower to suit 1-1/8" upper tapered to 1.5" lower headtube
This is just a standard is42/52 headset, most brands show 41.8 as 42 for simplicity as explained on the cane creek site https://www.canecreek.com/pages/everything-you-need-to-know-about-headsets
Something like a basic brand x would be equally as good as the acros garbage that was originally speced (ignoring the wrong description in the link title 🤣)
