Did Trek not get the memo about steeper seat angles? See they've added T.W.A.T though!

Doesn't need a knock block but theyve gone to the trouble of redesigning it, that's a strange one, the last one was definitely too restricted to live with IMO, glad you can lose it now and fit whatever headset and stem you want.
It's now back on my short list, I absolutely hated the previous downtube.

I hope internal storage becomes standard over the next few years, now trek has shown it can be done in aluminium.

If I lived somewhere hilly enough to justify it, and I was richer, I'd be all over this.

It’s not just a warmed-over version of the previous version, but we've tried very hard to make it look that way

Nice. Got my fingers crossed for similar in Remedy flavour.

The pivot bolt no longer sits right in the way of the dropper post cable/hose, enabling big travel droppers (probably).

I love the straight seat tube and knock block on my 2017 version as it happens. This is a bigger bike though, probably a bit more bike than I need.

Looks good. One for my list of potential long travel bikes for next year. Seeing a few reviewers with their saddles slid all the way forward isn't overly encouraging on the seat angle front. Neither is Enduro MTB and Vital both having carbon rim failures already. Can't we just have a decent set of aluminium wheels?

Strange how some models dont have a trunnion mount shock.
The frame only options are crap, only one colour choice and it's the worst one, and for a few hundred more you can get a full build, I'll probably go for a 9.7 in orange then change the groupset to XT and put my hope hubs and brakes on.
Their XT version has SLX brakes and the ultimate cost cutting deore bottom bracket ( what a f##king liberty ) on 5k+ bike, cheeky bar stewards.

There's probably no difference between a deore bb and an xt bb.
Agree on the slx brakes though.

pretty good looking bike.

Deore bb has inferior bearings and seals, if I recall correctly theres no seal on the inside face of the bearing or something along those lines.
I've picked up XT mt800 bb for as little as £13, so pretty poor if not shocking spec on a bike that price, XT spec should mean XT not a mishmash of lower groupsets. No excuse for that bottom bracket, come on Trek respect your customers.
