I've got a bloke called Godwin here and he's asking why you've just invoked his law.

Totally worth it.

In 6 pages I've not seen anything that would tempt me to spend any money. Not sure if that's good or bad 🙂

I really want a full suss xc race bike just haven't a clue where to start, I don't even know what wheelsize I'm after!

2017 Scott Spark for the win.. assuming you can sell a kidney. If I won the lottery I'd get the 27.5 RC version, weight weenie it to allow for the weight gain of a KS lev carbon dropper and still come almost last in almost every race 😀

I'd love a spark but 2 of my friends have got or are about to get one! Granted it's not the brand new one...

I'd definitely be interested in testing the 650 and 29er back to back

Why the Monarch Tracey and not the Ohlins equipped one?

The carbon Patrol is what I'd have - same geometry as my Giant (well balanced and easy to ride in the centre of the bike, without having to think about weighting up the front or hanging over the back - like you get with bikes at the opposite ends of the spectrum - too long or too short).

I really like the fact that when the Metric shocks came out, Transition just redesigned their current model - giving their customers some future proofing of their older models. Any company that does this is worth their weight in gold to the sport.

That was the only pic I Could find.
Will probably end up with a medium 29r which has Ohlins front and rear.
The Ohlins we have are far more supple than the Cane Creeks. Not tried the Rockshox but Im told that the one in the pic is a special. Will get a look at it in Valburg.

Would really like the 29er one as well but the geometry is just a tiny bit off versus my Reign - I'd like a 460mm reach, so that's the Mega 290.

So next summers bike might be a 290, equipped with a TTX 22 and the RXF 36.

I agree, the STX 22 is much more supple than any air shock I've ever tried - including the Float X2.

Are/do Ohlins make a 650b version of their forks?

Not yet, unfortunately. Which is pushing me towards considering a 29er - Enduro mag and everyone but Dirt are raving about them. Not had a chance to try one of their forks yet, but if it's anything like the STX or the TTX shocks then it should be something special.

You can get a TTX in 200x57, so I'm probably going to get one from the Adreani group over the next few months - tuned for my Reign. Then it's the right size to swap on to a 290 frame, which is the only 29er that has taken my fancy - if I so choose.

Is there plans for a 650b Ohlins?

I purposely specced Xfusions on my new BFE build so I could ride it whilst I chose between BOS/DVO and the new Ohlins fork.

I emailed the Adreani group, they said that Ohlins were working on it but that it has been delayed. I'm not sure why it's so hard to alter the chassis but I suspect that Specialized priorities (pushing 29ers) has something to do with the delay.

I'm also of the opinion that whilst Ohlins builds technically great products, they don't understand the bike industry, it's culture or what people want yet. It's still a bemusing distraction to them. They seem to be happy taking their time getting a 650b fork to market as a small minority of weirdos have been happy to throw the 29er fork on their 650b bike and rake their bikes out more and Ohlins have been happy to sell them these forks for that use. I don't think that they have truly understood that there is a good market for people who want a 650b alternative to Rock Shox or Fox and I suspect that they are happy with selling a few forks to the aforementioned weirdos.

Want I want ideally is a RXF 34 with 140mm travel in 650b.

So, when you buy an SWorks 29r Stumpjumper or Enduro you get Ohlins front and year, what do you get on the equivalent 650b models?

Ohlins rear and Pike on the Stumpjumper. Think the Enduro has the Lyrik. Not sure if the 650b S Works Stumpjumper is on the UK list for next year
